WEST LAFAYETTE-The Crawfordsville volleyball team got a tough test Thursday. They were defeated by West Lafayette in four sets, 25-14, 22-25, 25-7, 25-21.

Lacey Garrett and Kim Hampton stayed busy on defense with 22 and 18 kills, respectively. Hampton also led the offense with eight kills.

"The girls played an awesome match," head coach Kelly Johnson said. "West Lafayette had a lot of height and that hurt us. But the girls had great effort."

The Athenians (10-4) has another tough test with Lafayette Central Catholic Monday on the road.
