DANVILLE -- The North Montgomery Lady Chargers were looking to pick up their first Sagamore Conference victory, as they made the trip to Danville Friday evening. After a strong showing by the visitors in the first half, it was the Warriors who prevailed pulling away in the second, 59-27.

The Chargers played great defense in the first quarter limiting the Warrior offense to just six points, but could only must four of their own, trailing 6-4 after one.

North tied the game at six at the 7:40 mark of the second quarter, on a basket by Zoey McCormick. However, the Lady Chargers would go the next five minutes without a basket, and Danville was able to extend their lead to 8.

They would outscore North 16-8 in the quarter and take a 22-12 lead into the break.

DANVILLE - North Montgomery's girls' basketball team has been playing well since mid-December. They may not have the record to show it, but vast improvements have been made since the beginning of the season. The Chargers will get an opportunity to showcase their improvement, and hopefully notch another win, when they travel to Danville Friday for a Sagamore Athletic Conference affair.

The Chargers (3-11) most recently fell victim to a big comeback in a loss to Harrison Tuesday.
