Danville’s Lady Warriors soccer team faced a tough game against Covenant Christian Wednesday night. The Lady Warriors fought a long battle and almost kept Covenant Christian from scoring any goals. Covenant Christian, however, snuck a goal in under Danville’s nose. Danville was unable to match Covenant Christian’s threat, and Danville went home with a disappointing loss. The final score was Covenant Christian one point, Danville zero points.

The North Montgomery girls soccer team lost 8-0 against Danville Monday. The game was resumed from Aug. 25 when lightning forced postponement less than a minute in. The Warriors already led 1-0 upon resumption and they picked up where they left off. Stephanie Burdsall scored four more goals before halftime to make it 5-0 and the Warriors never slowed down. The Chargers are 3-12 and finish the regular season Wednesday at Lebanon.

DANVILLE-In one of their toughest tests of the season, the Crawfordsville Lady Athenian soccer team lost its undefeated record. They were defeated by Danville 8-3 in Sagamore Athletic Conference action.

Crawfordsville got two goals from Hannah Whicker and another from Maddie Hudson, but it wasn't enough.

"It's a tough loss. We started off great by taking a 1-0 lead, but fell back on our heels," head coach Brent Bokhart explained. "I'm proud of the effort the girls displayed late in the game against a tough opponent."

Cali Saunders had an assist, as did Hudson.

NEW MARKET-The Southmont girls soccer team took on Danville in a Sagamore Athletic Conference matchup Saturday and lost by a final score of 8-2

"Anytime you play Danville they're going to be tough," head coach Alfredo Villalpando said. "When you play against a team that good, they're going to capitalize on any mistakes you made. It kind of turned around for us in the second half. We can't dig ourselves into a hole in the first half and try to dig out."

Senior Rachel Welliever put in one goal unassisted and freshman Macy Zachary got assisted by Avery Hess for the other goal. Southmont went into the locker room trailing 6-0 at halftime and could not pull themselves out of the deficit.
