South girls face juggernaut
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 5:22 PM
LEBANON - Get in, get out, move on. That's the approach the Southmont girls' basketball team will want to take Friday night when it makes the bi-annual trip to Lebanon for a Sagamore Athletic Conference clash. The Class 2A Mounties (4-15, 1-4 SAC) know that they will be heavy underdogs against the Class 3A No. 5 Tigers (18-2, 6-0 SAC).
"Not having them in the sectional, we're going to go play and move on," Southmont head coach Susan McVay said. "We've got to do the best we can to come out and put together a game. We know what they're going to do."

Chargers can't cage No. 5 Tigers
Friday, January 23, 2015 7:10 PM
LINDEN - The North Montgomery girls' basketball team had the opportunity to see one of the state's best Class 3A schools on Friday night. The Chargers played host to Sagamore Athletic Conference rival and Class 3A No. 5 Lebanon. The Tigers won the game 76-26.
Lebanon (16-2) has not lost to a school of equal or smaller size all year. Their only blemishes belong to Class 4A No. 4 Homestead and Class 4A No. 5 Noblesville.
It was clear why eyes of the state are on the Boone County power. They ran out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Chargers did not score in the first three minutes of any quarter.
Kristen Spolyar, a junior and a Butler recruit, powered the offense with layup after layup on her way to 34 points. The Chargers got nine points from Cheyenne Warren and eight from Becca Adams.
