The North Montgomery boys’ soccer team dropped its contest to Frankfort 5-2 on Wednesday evening.

“We played really well for much of the game, and in other years we might call this moral victory.” Head coach Mike Margeson said. “This year we are better than that and we need to convert good play into wins, plain and simple.”

Corbin Osbourne led the Chargers with a goal and an assist, while Kevin Ambriz scored the other goal. The Hot Dogs had 22 shots on goal while the Chargers had 16. Logan Slovacek had 10 saves for North Montgomery.

“The mistakes we made outweighed what we did well, even though there were relatively few.” Margeson said. “A good team like Frankfort makes you pay when you make mistakes; we missed opportunities to finish offensively, and we missed opportunities to clear the ball defensively—that’s how a good game turns into a three-goal loss.”

North Montgomery moves to 2-2 on the season and challenges Western Boone on Saturday at 11 a.m.
