LINDEN-The 100-career goal mark is in sight.

Hannah Whicker increased her career tally to 98 goals with four Thursday at Crawfordsville beat North Montgomery 7-1 to win the girls' soccer county title for the second straight year.

No. 16 Crawfordsville jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals by Whicker (2) and Reilly Dunham in the first half.

"We played 30 minutes of soccer in the first half. That's something we talked about at halftime," Crawfordsville head coach Brent Bokhart said. "We did a lot of good things. We crashed the goal - something we've been preaching all year. The defense played well and kept their organization throughout."

North Montgomery stole some momentum before the half with 10 strong minutes of play and a goal from Caroline McClaskey.

"We thought we had some momentum there," North Montgomery head coach Julie Hodges said. "Even after about five minutes of the second half. Then they got a couple quick goals and it was almost a chasing game."

The Athenians answered with two goals from Whicker within 17 seconds to make it 5-1.

"We're finally getting to be where we want to be (as the end of the season nears)," Bokhart added. "We have Cascade Saturday and they're tough."

Dunham would add a goal and Maddie Hudson got in on the fun for the Athenians as well.

Crawfordsville (10-1-2, 4-1 SAC) travels to Cascade Saturday. North Montgomery (3-9, 0-5 SAC) will play in the Southmont Invitational Saturday.
