The North Montgomery softball team kept close with Sagamore Athletic Conference foe Frankfort at home on Tuesday, but the Hot Dogs got going late to win 17-3 in six innings.
Frankfort put up three runs in the first two innings, but North responded with a pair in the home half of the second. Even as the Hot Dogs exploded for four runs in the third, the Chargers answered with one of their own.
Frankfort put the game away with a run in the fourth, three in the fifth and six in the sixth.
North had just five hits, with two of them coming from Cheyenne Warren. Kirsten Southwood had a triple and two RBIs and Ashlynn Voorhees drove in a run and scored one.
North Montgomery and Frankfort meet again Thursday on Hot Dog turf.
