Caleb Whicker won the SAC diving title.
Thanks to their depth and execution, the Crawfordsville boys are the Sagamore Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving champions. They edged North Montgomery 391-299 Saturday at Crawfordsville to take first place. Western Boone was a third with 279 points. Southmont clocked in at seventh, with 164 points. On the girls' side, Lebanon was the class of the field. Their 356 points edged Danville's 351.5 and was well ahead of third-place North Montgomery's 270.5. Crawfordsville was seventh (225) and Southmont eighth (131).

Thomas Fairfield was the only individual to pick up multiple wins for the Athenians. He won the 50-yard freestyle (22.32) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.30). Caleb Whicker was Crawfordsville's other individual champion. He won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 375.15.

The North Montgomery boys won four events, but couldn't match the depth of Crawfordsville. The Charger team of Luke Spencer, Javan Barton, Jeffrey Miller and Gus Maxwell won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:31.90. That same teamed up to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.94.

Individually, Maxwell won the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.59) and Barton won the 100-yard freestyle (49.11).

North Montgomery's Lauren Odle was the only Montgomery County girl to win an individual event. She won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.53.
