Jacob Pruett will help a deep Crawfordsville boys team as they search for the championship of the Sagamore Athletic Conference.
The preliminary rounds of the Sagamore Athletic Conference swimming and diving meet took place Thursday at Crawfordsville High School. All three Montgomery County schools put swimmers in the finals, which take place Saturday at Crawfordsville.

Crawfordsville earned a total of 23 swims in the finals. Thomas Fairfield earned two of those swims and will be seeded first in the 100 yard breaststroke. He will also swim in the 50 yard freestyle. Calvin Chaney will join Fairfield in the 100 breaststroke. Juan Huesca also earned two swims, the 100 yard and 200 yard freestyles. Sam Malott and John Servies will join Huesca in the 200 free. Malott will also swim in the finals of the 500 yard freestyle, joined by Dalton Humphrey. Davis Thompson and Reeve Hawkins will join Huesca in the 100 free. Jacob Pruett and Conner Franke will swim in the 200 yard IM. Pruett will also swim the 100 yard butterfly. Franke, along with Westin Evans, will swim in the 100 yard backstroke finals.

For the Crawfordsville girls, Zoe Harp and Katelyn Dixon each earned two spots in the finals. Harp will swim in the 100 and 200 yard freestyles. Dixon will swim the 100 yard butterfly where she will be joined by Cali Saunders, and the 200 yard IM. Kaylee McCandless (50 free) and Lexus Shambarger (100 backstroke) round out the Lady Athenians in the finals.

The North Montgomery swimmers will have 19 spots throughout the finals on Saturday. Gus Maxwell is seeded first in the 200 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard butterfly. Nick Maxwell will also swim the 100 fly, in addition to the 200 yard IM. Javan Barton will be the top seed in the 100 yard freestyle and the second seed in the 100 yard backstroke. Luke Spencer is the top seed in the 50 yard freestyle, where he will be joined by Jeffrey Miller, who is seeded second. Spencer will also swim the 100 yard breaststroke as the second seed. Cole Wilson will join him in that event.

On the girls' side, Lauren Odle is the No. 1 seed in the 100 yard backstroke and the second seed in the 100 yard freestyle. Anna Cottrell will join her in the second event. Cottrell is also in the finals of the 50 yard freestyle. Lillia Mitchell and Megan Merica also earned two swims in the finals each. Mitchell will participate in the 200 yard IM and the 100 yard butterfly. Merica is slated for the 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle. Layton Pearson completes the Charger field in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Southmont garnered seven swims in Saturday's finals. Owen Zimmerman is seeded third in the 200 yard IM and sixth in the 100 fly. Keifer Lowe also earned two spots. He'll swim the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke.

For the girls, Maddi Wickholm is the fourth seed in both the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke. Nikki Wickholm will swim in the 100 fly.

Diving will kick things off Saturday morning with the prelims. Finals action starts at 1:30 p.m.
