The preliminary swims are complete and the sectional finals are set. All three Montgomery County boys' swimming teams saw action Thursday at Crawfordsville as the fields were determined for Saturday's finals.

Crawfordsville earned the most swims in the finals for county schools with 19. North Montgomery will have 11 swims in the finals and Southmont earned eight.

Thomas Fairfield is in the best position for the Athenians. He is seeded second in the 100 breaststroke and sixth in the 50 free. He will also swim in a relay. Several other Athenians earned two finals swims, including: Juan Huesca in the 100 and 200 frees; Sam Malott in the 200 and 500 frees; Dalton Humphreys in the 200 IM and 500 free; Jacob Pruett in the 200 IM and 100 fly; and Westin Evans in the 100 back and 100 fly.

Additionally, Conner Franke and Luke Mangold will swim in the finals of the 100 back and Davis Thompson and Reeve Hawkins will swim in the finals of the 100 free.

The Chargers have fewer spots in the finals, but are positioned well. Javan Barton is seeded second in the 100 free and 100 back. Luke Spencer is seeded second in the 50 free and third in the 100 breaststroke. Gus Maxwell is seeded second in the 200 free and third in the 100 fly. Other final qualifiers include Nick Maxwell in the 200 IM, Jeffrey Miller in the 50 free and Cole Wilson in the 100 breaststroke.

For Southmont, Owen Zimmerman earned two swims in the finals. He is seeded second in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 fly. Steven Cloncs is seeded fourth in the 100 back, Keifer Lowe will swim in the 100 breaststroke finals and Wyatt Waddell qualified eighth for the 500 free.

All three schools will participate in the finals of the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. The North Montgomery team in the both relays consists of Barton, Spencer, Gus Maxwell and Miller. The Crawfordsville team in the medley relay is made up of Franke, Fairfield, Pruett and Huesca. The CHS 200 free relay team is Davis Thompson, Reeve Hawkins, Pruett and Malott. The Southmont team in both relays is made up of Cloncs, Lowe, Zimmerman and Waddell.

Crawfordsville and Southmont also qualified for the finals in the 400 free relay. The Athenian team is Westin Evans, Franke, Hawkins and Malott. Mountie swimmers are Ryan Sacco, Brooks Long, Clinton Schroll and Nicholas McManus.

Saturday begins with diving prelims at 9 a.m. Finals and consolations swims will begin at 1 p.m. All action is at the Crawfordsville High School Aquatic Center.
