OK, some positive news.
And this should put a little extra spring in the steps of Indiana high school athletes this summer.
The IHSAA issued a statement this week that it plans to waive the rule for the annual moratorium week.
It was scheduled for June 29-July 5, 2020.
But, at this point, all high school-sponsored activities can now resume on July 1.
The IHSAA waived the moratorium week because of the amount of time student-athletes and coaches have already been been restricted from contact.
Based on this move, summer conditioning can begin on July 1 and run through Aug. 1. The official week for fall practices will begin on Aug. 3
All of this is pending, of course, providing there are no adjustments to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announced plans to re-open the state.
