LINDEN – The North Montgomery baseball team was in control of a low-scoring affair with Harrison Wednesday. But a 5-run seventh from the Raiders gave them a 7-3 win over the Chargers.
A 1-out single got things going for Harrison, but most of the damage was done with two outs. The Raiders recorded two doubles, two singles and drew a walk – all with two outs – during the rally.
North got just two hits, but benefitted from two walks and an error in their scoring innings. Kai Warren and Jacob Verduin recorded the hits for North, with Warren earning the team’s only RBI. Warren, Kade Kobel and Owen Gregg scored.
Warren took the loss on the mound, giving up three earned runs while striking out seven.
North Montgomery (2-3) is at Southmont tonight looking to avenge Tuesday’s loss.

North girls fall
VEEDERSBURG – The North Montgomery softball team suffered a defeat at the hands of Fountain Central Wednesday evening, 12-2.
Olivia Scott had a pair of hits for the Chargers. Cailin Campbell, Laney Shaw, Kenzie Swank and Eden Pyle each tallied a hit. Campbell drove in two runs with her double.
North Montgomery (0-6) makes the trip to Southmont tonight for a rematch.

Charger netters win
A singles sweep propelled the North Montgomery tennis team to a win Wednesday at Mooresville, 3-2. The Chargers won in straight sets at all three singles spots.
Mary Jackman, Aryn Groves and Kaitlyn Greenlee picked up the points for North Montgomery.
The doubles teams of Caitlin Fedor / Karli Fidler and Gracie Chapman / Allison Guard battled to three sets in each of their matches.
North Montgomery (1-2) is at Crawfordsville tonight for county action.

Mounties split
The Southmont track and field teams were in action Tuesday night at North Putnam. The boys scored 65 points to beat North Putnam (59) and Monrovia (27). The girls were third with 38 points behind Monrovia (63) and North Putnam.
The Mountie boys grabbed wins in the 110 meter hurdles (Greiner), 4x100 relay (Jones, France, Giles, Lauy), 400 meter dash (Jones), 300 meter hurdles (Whitecotton), 800 meter run (France), 200 meter dash (Lauy), 3200 meter run (Richardson), 4x400 relay (Jones, France, Giles, Lauy) and shot put (Essex).
The Mountie girls got wins in the 100 meter hurdles (Isenberg), 100 meter dash (Odum), 4x100 relay (Myers, Isenberg, Pedro, Odum), 300 meter hurdles (Isenberg), and the 200 meter dash (Odum).
South will run at the Charger Relays on Friday at North Montgomery.

Chargers take first, second
North Montgomery’s track and field teams took first and second Monday at Frankfort. The boys took first with 68 points, ahead of Frankfort (63) and Tri-West (36). The girls were second with 65 points, behind Frankfort (69.5) and Tri-West (29.5).
The Charger boys got wins in the 4x800 relay (Alenduff, Coon, Fritzen, McCartney), 110 meter hurdles (Jackman), 800 meter run (Fritzen), 4x400 relay (Coon, Fritzen, Jackman, Lovold), shot put (Cain), discus (Cain), pole vault (Clouser) and long jump (Lovold).
The Charger girls got wins in the 4x200 relay (Anderson, Bonwell, McClerkin, Welch), 4x100 relay (Burns, Campbell, Welch, McClaskey), 400 meter dash (Humphreys), 4x400 relay (Humphreys, Anderson, McClerkin, Campbell), high jump (Knowling), long jump (Anderson) and long jump (McClerkin).
North Montgomery will act as host for the Charger Relays Friday.
