The Sagamore Athletic Conference has announced their All-Conference teams for the spring season. Montgomery County was well represented in all sports with multiple first and second team honorees. All of the players who were named to either the first or second team for their respective sport were honored this past Tuesday night at Lebanon High School

Crawfordsville led the way in baseball with four players making the first team. Cam Saunders, Austin Warren, Josh Blackburn, and Carson Scott helped the Athenians go 21-7 this season, and were honored for their efforts.

Kai Warren of North Montgomery and Cole Roach and Peyton Wininger for Southmont also were named to the first team.

In golf Zach Taylor received first team honors. Taylor helped the Chargers win the county title this past season.

Will Bradley of Southmont and Luke Ranard of Crawfordsville were second team recipients.

In Softball Paige Knowling (Southmont) and Lauren Kellerman (Crawfordsville) were named to the first team. Knowling was a key player for the Mounties as they were crowned sectional champions this season.

Two players from each school were represented on the second team. Maddie Utterback and Olivia Barnett from Crawfordsville, Cailin Campbell and Catie Campbell from North Montgomery, and Marissa Craig, and Claire Remley from Southmont all earned second team honors.

First team all tennis honors included Crawfordsville’s Sarah Chalmers, North Montgomery’s Mary Jackman and Aryn Groves, and Southmont’s Hope Lighty.

The second team included Emmy Hale and Alyssa Meyers from Crawfordsville, Sophie Reimondo and Mallory Murphey from Southmont, and Karli Fidler from North Montgomery.

Southmont led the way in boys’ first team track. Trent Jones (200 meter), Dillan Lauy (400 meter and pole vault), and the team of Nathan France, Cameron Giles, Jones and Lauy (1600 meter relay) all received first team honors.

Cameron Cain in the shotput and Kade Kobel in the 300 meter hurdle represented North Montgomery, while the team of Christian Hernandez, Hunter Hutchinson, Cole Watt, and Eli Widmer in the 3200 meter relay represented Crawfordsville on the first team

The second team was led by North Montgomery. Adam Coon (200 meter), Daniel Fritzen (800 and 1600 meter), Kade Kobel (110 meter hurdle and long jump), and the team Kobel, Fritzen, Coon, and Matt Jackson (1600 meter relay) all made the second team for the Chargers.

The Mounties had two members make the second team. Nathan France in the 400 meter, and Zion Essex in the shotput were the recipients.

On the girl’s side, only North Montgomery was represented on the first team as the team of Kendall Humphreys, Brynn Anderson, Katlynn McClerkin,and Grace McClaskey were recipients. These ladies competed in the 1600 meter relay. 

Second team honors for Southmont included Alexandria Odum (200 meter,) and the team of Shannon Isenberg, Mia Myers, Suzanne Pedro and Odum in the 400 meter relay.

The Chargers had McClerkin in the long jump earn a spot on the second team while Crawfordsville had Madison Fry earn honors in both the 800 and 1600 meter run.
