Southmont will travel to Tri-West Thursday looking to play spoiler in the Bruins Sagamore Conference title hunt.

Tri-West beat conference co-leader Danville this past Friday, 55-53, handing them their first conference loss. With the Warriors still having to play Lebanon, the Bruins, with a little help from their biggest rival, can secure a tie atop the standings.

Tri-West (11-5, 3-1 SAC) enters as winners three of their last four games. They are led in scoring by Tyler Watson, 16.4 and Peyton Hendershot, 12.6. As a team, they average nearly 64 points.

The Mounties, who are in the middle of a tough stretch in their schedule, have lost three of their last four. They lost a tough game to Crawfordsville, to Lebanon and to Class 4A Harrison this past Saturday. They enter at 8-9 overall and 0-5 in the Conference.

They have two in double figures with Camden Chadd at 18.3 and Kaleb Swick, 13. Swick, Chadd and Jacob Budd lead the Mounties in rebounding, with five per game.

The Bruins lead the series 10-5 since joining the conference in 1999. The Mounties last win was on Feb. 3, 2012, 67-60. Their longest winning streak was three straight from 1999-2001. They will look to start another Thursday.
