Western Boone used two first-half runs and converted from the line in the fourth quarter, to earn a 52-39 Sagamore Conference victory over Crawfordsville Thursday evening.
The Athenians led 4-0 to start the game but the Stars went on a 13-0 run to take a 13-4 lead early in the second. They went on a 10-0 run later in the quarter to lead, 27-16, at half.
“Our guys didn’t come ready to play,” Athenian coach David Pierce said. “We started the game with two unforced turnovers and we lost our fire from there.”
