Ina Keesee

Ina Keesee, 96, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Ina was born Mar. 10, 1925, in Crawfordsville to Blanche (Fishero) and Percival Hall.

She was a 1943 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. A member of Calvary Chapel Crawfordsville, Beta Sigma Pi, and the Fireman’s Auxiliary. Places of employment included the Crawfordsville Public Library and Montgomery County Assessor. She was also a civil service employee at the Alameda California Naval Air Station cutting engine lays for Norden bombsights during WWII.

She married John Keesee in Crawfordsville on June 6, 1943. The two were devoted parents to five children and Mrs. Keesee was a proud grandmother.

Mrs. Keesee loved her family deeply, never missing a special event in their lives. She loved to cook, and was famous for her birthday and theme parties. She enjoyed reading and knitting, keeping every member of the family supplied with hand-knitted house slippers each Christmas. She had many mottos, but a family favorite was “Be yourself! Everyone else is taken.”

Survivors include her children, Steve (Pam) Keesee, Sharon (Jim) Larew, David (Angela) Keesee, Tom (Delores) Keesee and Jeff (Kathleen) Keesee; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a brother, Roy Hall; a sister, Ruth Barnard; and a great-grandson, Kayne.

Family and friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 26th from 1 to 3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. Pastor David Keesee officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
