John P. Weesner

John P. Weesner, 72, Darlington, passed away Thursday morning at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville.

Born Jan 10, 1949, in Darlington, he was the son of Erving B. Weesner and Alice McClaskey Weesner. 

Mr. Weesner graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf. He liked Bible study and researched world history during the Biblical age. He was dependable, honest and obedient to God’s word. He also enjoyed birdwatching and had several birdfeeders. Mr. Weesner retired from the VA Administration building in Indianapolis, where he was a clerical worker who was never late and never missed a day in 41 years.  He was a member of Gateway Apostolic, now known as Hope Chapel.

Survivors include his brother, Robert E. (Laine) Weesner of Independence, Ky.; one nephew, Marshall Weesner of Cincinnati, Ohio; one niece, Lerin Middendorf of Independence, Ky.; and close friend, Pastor Everett Davenport.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue in Crawfordsville. Services will begin at 1 p.m., led by Pastor Everett Davenport. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
