State tourism agency wins prestigious award

MarCom Awards announced Visit Indiana as a 2021 winner in the international creative competition for marketing and communication professionals.

MarCom Awards recognizes outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of marketing and communication materials and programs.

Visit Indiana received the Platinum award in the Strategic Communications/Communications/Public Relations category of Social Media for The 20 IN 20 campaign.

On January 1, 2020, Visit Indiana unveiled the ultimate 2020 travel experience, called The 20 IN 20. The program’s motivation was to entice travel by releasing 20 lists of 20 things to do throughout the year. Each list had a topical theme to encourage people to visit places across the state in all 92 counties.

“It’s an honor to have the Indiana Destination Development Corporation and its staff recognized for their hard work,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch. “This is the fourth award the agency has received for this campaign.”

The North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) announced  Visit Indiana was selected as Silver and Bronze award winner in the 29th Annual North American Travel Journalists Awards Competition. The Public Relations Society of America Hoosier Chapter honored IDDC in June at its Pinnacle Awards.

“I am extremely proud of this team and their work on The 20 IN 20 campaign,” said Elaine Bedel, Secretary and CEO of IDDC. “Winning a MarCom Award is highly sought-after, peer recognition from the creative industry.”

There were over 6,000 MarCom entries from throughout the United States, Canada and 39 other countries. MarCom is sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).
