The Salvation Army of Montgomery County will kick off the annual Red Kettle Campaign Nov. 18 and will continue through Christmas Eve.

Volunteers are needed to ring the bell on Thursday through Sunday at Crawfordsville Walmart and Kroger locations.

Businesses, churches, community organizations, school groups, individuals and families who want to make a difference in Montgomery County are encouraged to ring the bell. Ringing takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and ringers are asked to commit to ringing for one or two hours.

The money raised in Montgomery County remains in the county and will be used to provide assistance to those in need in the community throughout 2022.

Services offered include assistance for food, clothing, utilities, medication, rent, and disaster relief as well as other crisis-related needs. The organization reports that it is their hope that services can grow, but volunteers are needed this season to raise the funds needed to provide those services.

Those interested in ringing the bell can sign up by contacting Clay Adams at (765) 376-7194 or by registering online at www.registertoring.com.
