Robert A. Cook

Robert A. Cook, 95, of Crawfordsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.

He was born May 31, 1926, in Darlington, to Arthur and Bessie Cook.

Mr. Cook attended Darlington Schools. He served our country in WWII in the US Army Air Corps from 1944-1946. He then went on to graduate from Wabash College class of 1950. He retired from RR Donnellys and went on to work for the Crawfordsville Public Library for many years until officially retiring to care for his wife.

Mr. Cook married the love of his life, Nancy, on May 27, 1951. She survives. During that 70 years of marriage they shared their love of traveling, animals and God. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years. They had four children together.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; his children, Roberta Labenz of Gladwin, Mich., Cathy Vinocur of Ariz., Allen (Paul) Cook of Ramona, Calif. and Tina (Jovito) Valle of Darlington; his grandchildren, Samantha (Adam) Sperry of Crawfordsville, Courtney (Doug) Haggard of Greenwood, Oliver Valle of Indianapolis and Eli Valle of Tennessee, Ronnie, Rachel, Dorianne, Max, Sarah, Joshua, Matthew and Andrew; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Dorothy Cook; and a grandson, Perry Arthur Surface.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Isaac Zull officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Military rites will be provided by Byron Cox Post 72 Honor Guard and the US Army. A Dinner for the family will be provided after the service by First Baptist Church
