Rosemary Shelton Robbins Tanner

Dec. 26, 1938 – Nov. 3, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Rosemary Tanner notes her passing on Nov. 3, 2021 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

Mrs. Tanner was born Dec. 26, 1938 to Howard M and R Percynne (Rarig) Shelton, the fifth of six children in Elmdale, Ind.

She attended Wingate and Crawfordsville schools graduating from Crawfordsville High School in 1957. She married Ralph Robbins and Steve Tanner, both deceased, and was blessed with four children.

She was an avid softball player for many years, was an artist, and enjoyed being outside and playing bingo.  More than anything she loved her family. She worked for the Crawfordsville Police Dept. as a Dispatcher, Coast to Coast Warehouse and retired from the State of Indiana Highway Department after 23 years of service.

Survivors include her sister, Margie Thompson; children, Jeanne Robbins (Jon Crose), Judi (Greg) Kleine, Jerry (Cathy) Robbins and Joe Tanner; grandchildren, Lynn (Allen), Michael, Jamie (Josh), Sarah (Corey), Kaleb (Marie), Gabe, Justin, Josh (Luis) and Christina; great-grandchildren, Caleb (Neri), Jalyn, Jade and Kaylee; great-great-granddaughter, Elena; and special friend, Albert Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses; brothers, Bob, Larry and Joe Shelton; and sister, Maxine Elliott.

The Celebration of Life is planned to be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at The Vine Church, 1004 Wayne Ave in Crawfordsville. The Visitation will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. with a short service at 5:30 p.m.
