Young at Heart has November events

The Young at Heart Ministry of the Hillsboro Nazarene Church has several events coming up on Saturdays in November. Unless otherwise noted, each event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and reservations may be made by calling the church at (765) 798-2350.  Activities are open to all older adults in Fountain and neighboring counties.

This Saturday is a Veterans’ Appreciation Lunch that consists of a meatball sandwich lunch, as well as entertainment. This is free for veterans with a free-will offering for other seniors. It begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. at the Covington Fire Department. Deadline is today.

On Nov. 13, the movie A Family Thanksgiving will be shown.  In it, a lawyer trying to make partner is shown the joys of living a more balanced life.  A hot dog bar lunch will be served at noon.  Cost is $2 and this takes place at the Kingman-Millcreek Public Library. The reservation deadline is Nov. 9 and the movie begins at 10:30 a.m.

And finally on Nov. 20, participants will be served an egg and sausage casserole brunch at 11 followed by the movie Sweet Inspirations at 11:45 a.m.  The film follows a group of middle-aged Christian women who hope to raise funds to thwart the foreclosure of a local women and children’s shelter.  Cost is $2 and it all takes place at the Hillsboro Nazarene Church. Reservation deadline is Nov. 17.

And as winter approaches, participants should contact the Young at Heart coordinator (765) 793-7285 the night before an event to make sure it was not canceled because of weather.

Partial funding for these events is provided by the Hillsboro Nazarene Church.
