Christmas dinner plans are now underway

Ho Ho Ho . . . Christmas season is upon us. The 2021 Montgomery County Community Christmas dinner is under way and plans are in full swing for a festive dine-in experience once again on Christmas Day at First Baptist Family Life Center 1905 Lebanon Rd. in Crawfordsville. 

Doors open at noon and serving starts at 12:30. Traditional meal of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, noodles, rolls and a variety of desserts will be served – with maybe some surprises too?!! I just spoke with Santa and he said he should be done with his regular rounds and is going to stop by to see all the kids, ages 0-95! 

If you are unable to come to our dining table, we can deliver to you. Orders for home delivery must be in before 10 p.m. on 24th. No calls will be taken on Christmas Day. Pick up is available at First Baptist, but we encourage you to come after 1 p.m. as we serve our inside diners first, thank you. For home delivery call Linda at 362-5650 or Joyce at 366-2341. If you leave a message, please know we will call you back asap.

Our donation needs are great this year as we have been serving 1,200 meals the last few years. If you wish to donate desserts (can be bought or home baked) they can be dropped off at Family Life Center all day on the 24th or the 25th. For pick up call 366-2341. Monetary donations can be given to our driver or mailed to MCCCD 1008 E. Market St. Crawfordsville. Thank You.

Many volunteers are needed also to cook, assemble deliveries, serve dine-in and deliver. This is your way to serve your community, and trust me when I say, it is a very heart-warming experience for all and a lot of fun!! I encourage the families who have young children and could not come serve last year because of COVID restrictions. We hope to see children again. They can help with drinks, rolls, carry trays, Santa gifts, etc.
