Fatal accident on 231

Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening the Crawfordsville Police Department along with the Crawfordsville Fire Department responded to a fatal accident on 231 N, near Franciscan Health.

A press release from the City of Crawfordsville Police Department states that 34-year-old Ashley Hoffa of Crawfordsville was driving southbound in her 2007 Ford Freestar when witnesses say that she turned east and collided with a 2013 GMC pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Benjamin Parkton of Wingate, who was headed northbound. Hoffa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was diverted and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is currently assisting with accident reconstruction.
