Free Tax Assistance Program Underway

United Way in Montgomery County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is underway. The VITA program offers free tax preparation and e-filing services to individuals and families with an annual household income at or below $68,000; persons with disabilities; and those who are older than 60 years of age. In-person appointments are available until Friday, April 8, 2022. Appointments are held at the United Way in Montgomery County Office on the second floor of the First Financial Bank, 221 E. Main St, in Crawfordsville. To schedule, call the local United Way office at 765-362-5484 or the VITA appointment line at 765-421-6163.

Shirley Largent is the first VITA client of the 2021 tax season. Debbie Swanson, VITA volunteer, and Riley Woodward, Wabash College Senior, oversee the preparation of her return.
