Ivy Tech Lafayette Offers New Horticulture Class

Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette has introduced a new horticulture class. The course is currently open for registrations. The eight-week course begins March 23.

Survey of Horticulture (AGRI 116) is offered through the Agriculture Program in the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Sciences. The course provides an overview of horticulture with an emphasis on basic concepts of identifying ornamental plants, growing them, and using them within a landscape. There are no prerequisites for the class.

“The course is a good introduction to horticultural practices for all plants and especially for ornamentals,” said Kraig Bowers, Program Chair of Agriculture at Ivy Tech Lafayette. “Students will learn concepts that can be immediately applied to greenhouse and outdoor plant production.”
