Expanding Education Options

Starting this school year, families of special needs students will have more options in how they tailor their child’s learning through the newly implemented Education Scholarship Account Program (ESA).

Created by the General Assembly, an ESA provides families access to portable funds so they can create an educational environment that best meets the learning needs of their children.

Families who meet the same income limits as the Choice Scholarship program will have the opportunity to spend dedicated scholarship money on approved educational programs, therapies, services, tuition and fees, and other expenses related to the student’s education.

The ESA will allow parents to have an even more active role in their child’s day-to-day routine and ensure students are getting the specific instruction they need to succeed.

Applications for this program are open from June 27 through Aug. 5. To learn more about the program, and to apply, go to https://www.in.gov/tos/inesa/
