THRIVE West Central MOU – Grant Technical Assistance Nucor Road & US Highway 136 – $5,000

Agreement provides technical assistance and grant application preparation for the Nucor Road and U.S. Highway 136 Intersection Improvement Project.

Public Hearing – Cecil Gill Petition to Vacate Portion of Lee Street in Linnsburg, Indiana – 8 a.m.

Petition filed by Cecil Gill to request that the Commissioners vacate the west 178 feet of Lee Street in Linnsburg, Indiana.

The Ordinance to vacate the portion of right of way will be introduced at the September 12 Commissioners meeting.

New Business

Notice to Proceed & Contract Bridge 29, 205 & 207 Deck Replacement –

Approved the Notice to Proceed and the Contract with H.I.S for the Deck Replacement Project for Bridges 29, 205, 207.

At the July 25 meeting of the Board of Commissioners, the Commissioners opened bids for the project: Milestone – $1,051,165 and H.I.S.’s  -$880,800. The Commissioners awarded the bid to H.I.S. in the amount of $880,800.

Notice to Proceed & Contract for Landfill Project – J.S. McCullough –

Approved the Notice to Proceed and the Contract with JS McCullough Excavating, LLC.

At a previous  meeting, the Commissioners awarded the bid for the Landfill Cap Stabilization Project to  JS McCullough Excavating, LLC. in the amount of  $437,064.60.

Change Order #3 – Comfort Drive – Remove existing CR200S

 Approved Change Order #3 to remove the existing gravel road bed of CR 200 South since it will no longer be used when Comfort Drive is completed.

PTBOA Board Appointment –

Appointed Lindsey Hamilton to the Property Tax Board of Appeals.

Assessor Sherri Bentley advised the Board that Kelly McCartney is an employee of vendor Tyler Technologies and she will no longer be able to serve on the Property Tax Appeals Board as this is a conflict.

The local Democratic party submitted Lindsey Hamilton as a candidate.  Assessor Bentley recommended her appointment to the Board.

Other Business

The Commissioners presented the Award for Exceptional Service to the County to Amber Reed, the Administrator of the Health Department.
