The Montgomery County Board of Zoning Appeals met on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Those members present were Steve Loy, Steve Canfield, Seth Howell and John Hedrick. The staff members present were Marc Bonwell and Dan Taylor.

The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m.

Steve Loy made a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion was seconded by John Hedrick.

ZV2206: Marc Bonwell introduced the request. The request was filed by Doug & Nancy Mills and Casey and Jamie Peters. Location is 50 S. Petitioner is requesting a variance in lot size from 100’ to 40’. The property is currently owned by Ranard Property Holdings but will be purchased by the petitioners. The proposed project is a personal storage building. The staff is recommending a favorable recommendation with two conditions. 1) A building permit is required prior to the start of construction. 2) A Right-of-Way permit is obtained from Montgomery County.

Public discussion was opened at 10:04 a.m. Casey Peters, 584 S Cleveland Dr., stated they will be diverting the water away from the adjoining landowners so in the long run this will be a help. There being no further public comments, the public hearing was closed at 10:08 a.m.

Seth Howell made a motion to approve the request with the conditions of the applicants receiving a building permit and a right-of-way permit prior to construction beginning. The motion was seconded by John Hedrick. The motion carried 4-0.

Dan Taylor explained the new Zoning binders. The new binders have a table in the back of the document showing the changes made to the ordinance.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
