RESCHEDULED: Restrictions On US 231

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces restrictions on U.S. 231 starting on or after Wednesday, July 5 near West Lafayette for bridge maintenance. The road will be restricted down to one lane between U.S. 52 and W. 500 N. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals through July 8, weather permitting.

Then, on or after Sunday, July 9, U.S. 231 will be restricted to one lane between W. 625 S. and W. 500 S. for bridge maintenance near Lafayette. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals through mid-July, weather permitting.

Finally, U.S. 231 will be restricted on or after Friday, July 14 for bridge maintenance near Crawfordsville. It will be restricted to one lane between E. 400 S. and E. 450 S. through the end of July, weather permitting.

This contract was awarded to Pacific Painting Co. and involves maintenance on six bridges. It involves two bridges in Fountain County on U.S. 41, one bridge in Montgomery County on State Road 32, and three bridges on U.S. 231 in both Tippecanoe and Montgomery County. Crews will be performing polymeric overlays to provide additional years of service to the bridges. The entire contract is expected to be completed in October of 2023, weather permitting.

State Road 75 will close on or after Wednesday, July 5 over Muskrat Creek, near Dover. Crews will be performing bridge work. The road will be closed between S.R. 32 and County Road 200 N. through mid-August, weather permitting.

The official detour follows S.R. 32 to I-65 to U.S. 52 to S.R. 47 and back.

This contract was awarded to Calumet Civil Contractors, Inc. It also involves HMA overlay work on S.R. 75 through Thorntown. The entire contract is expected to be completed in October of 2023.
