Spotlight on Local Artists:

If you have not stopped by 216 East Main St., you are missing the remarkable work of local and regional guest artists. From painters and jewelry to photographers and glass, their creativity knows no bounds! Athens has created an artist wall so that you may read about each artist; please stop by and chat with the docents working at the gallery to learn more about our artist’s unique journeys and the stories behind their captivating creations.

Community Art Projects:

I believe Art can bring people together and foster a sense of belonging- if you ever have had a one-on-one conversation with me, you know I truly believe this! Athens continues to explore how to reach our community through art projects that have united individuals and will showcase the power of collective creativity. The Unity in Creativity was a way to showcase the inspiring and creative arts in our arts community!

Inspiring Arts Education and Exploration:

I believe education is a crucial aspect of nurturing the young, a precursor for critical thinking, and ensuring the longevity of Athens Arts. Our preschool program continues to inspire the young, and our art classes each month on the third Thursday show that our community wants to create and explore. Our classes made efforts to hire dedicated educators who have been instrumental in providing enriching arts education programs to students of all ages. Athens has a book group and a poetry group that meets each month at Athens Arts to create and explore the Art of literature! We are busy!
