Clarence C. “Bud” Bowman

Clarence C. “Bud” Bowman, age 86, of Hillsboro, passed away on March 28, 2024 at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville. He was born June 28, 1937 at home to Clarence L. and Ruthebelle (Guinn) Bowman.

Bud graduated from Wallace High School, class of 1955. He proudly served his county in the United States Army Reserves. He married Judith A. Harvey on September 12, 1958, they shared 65 happy years together with their two children Vicki and Brian.

He retired from Mid-States Steel and Wire after 33 years and 11 years at Raybestos. Bud and Judy owned the Lake Waveland Bait shop for 5 years.

Bud enjoyed coffee time at Wallace with his coffee buddies. He was a member of the Eagles, Farm Bureau, and Lutheran Cemetery Board. Bud loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren. Bud loved Thursday and Saturday night dancing to the Highway 341 Band and visiting with his friends. Now Bud can dance the streets of gold forever more.

Bud is survived by his wife, Judith; son Brian Evan (Amy) Bowman; daughter, Vicki (David) Wilson; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Verna Ward and Virginia Britton.

Visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Care Waynetown, 202 Bratton Road in Waynetown on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating, Burial will follow at Wallace Lutheran Cemetery.
