Buchanan: Communities in District 7 Get More Than $2.5 Million

Communities in Senate District 7, including Ladoga, will receive more than $2.5 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program, according to State Sen. Brian Buchanan (R-Lebanon).

“The Community Crossings Grant Program helps rural communities fund important road maintenance projects for Hoosiers across the state,” Buchanan said. “A strong transportation network is essential for all Hoosiers, and I’d like to thank the local leaders who worked with the state to receive these funds and look to our communities’ future needs.”

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 7, the following communities received grants:

• Advance received $177,520;
• Boone County received $620,000;
• Frankfort received $449,702.50;
• Ladoga received $273,638.40; and
• Whitestown received $1 million.

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive an 80 / 20 match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50 / 50 match.

Buchanan represents portions of Boone, Clinton, Hendricks and Montgomery counties.
