Rep. Jeff Thompson Encouraged With Revenue Forecast

State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton) got a look at the state’s revenue forecast last week and liked what he saw.

“I am encouraged by Indiana’s updated revenue forecast showing higher-than-expected growth driven by rising personal income and a booming stock market,” Thompson said. “It continues the positive trajectory we’ve been seeing since the last forecast in April, when economic growth was expected at a much slower pace. Medicaid expenditures are also dropping, though lawmakers continue to keep a close eye on cost increases in that program.”

Thompson, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, ) represents House District 28, which includes portions of Montgomery, Boone and Hendricks counties.“Our philosophy continues to be managing a state government that’s efficient with your tax dollars. Looking ahead, Hoosiers should also expect lower property taxes and individual income tax cuts that will collectively save them hundreds of millions of dollars.”
