Retired Teachers Association Meeting Minutes

President Steve Frees welcomed members to the December 8th Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association meeting held in the Crawfordsville Public Library.  President Steve led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.  The invocation was given by Debbie Howard.  Table decorations were provided by Linda Sabol, Susie Minch, and Debbie Howard.  A delicious lunch was provided by Creekside Restaurant.

The program was given by the Crescendos, under the direction of Marsha Smith and accompanied by Bill Stockwell.  It was enjoyed by all!

President Steve called the business meeting to order.  The minutes which were sent to the members were approved.  Barb Foster gave the Treasurer’s report.

Nancy Bowes read thanks from the Youth Service Bureau for our November donation.  She reminded members to turn in their volunteer hours as soon as possible.  Nancy and Janet have to send the total to the state by December 31.  These hours have an impact on the possibility of a 13th check from the state.  Today, the money from the donation basket will go to the Fish Food Pantry.

Nancy Buckles reported that the membership concern committee had sent Thanksgiving cards to members that are unable to attend.  They also sent 2 get-well cards, 1 sympathy card, and 1 congratulations card.

Kim Nixon report that the IRTA/Foundation grant committee had donated $600.00 to Fish and $600.00 to the Youth Service Bureau.

President Steve mentioned that the nominating committee needs members to serve on this committee.

The next meeting will be held at the library on February 9, 2026.  Table decorations will be provided by Darlene Dusek and Nancy Buckles.  Nancy Buckles is responsible for the invocation.

The meeting was adjourned.
