Four Yearlong Reading Journeys
Four local readers recently completed the Crawfordsville District Public Library program the “Yearlong Reading Journey.” Ida Stull, age 7; Nora Stull, age 9; Abbie Guthrie, age 7; and Elaine Guthrie, age 10 are the big achievers who were challenged to read 12 chapter books and 12 picture books. Ida and Nora are the daughters of Joseph and Ashann Stull. On the journey, Ida read 2,236 pages during the year. She also practiced library skills and learned about a different author each month. Her favorite book is The Nutcracker Mice by Kristin Kladstrup. Ida said, “I love to read, be at the library and look at all the stuffed animals on the shelves. I also love book club and all of the different books.” Nora read 2,227 pages during the year. She also practiced library skills and learned about a different author each month. Her favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Nora said, “I enjoyed reading all the different books with my family.” Abbie read 2,288 pages during the year. She also practiced library skills and learned about a different author each month. Her favorite book is My Father’s Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. Abbie said, “I really enjoyed reading new books this year.” And Elaine read 2,302 pages during the year. She also practiced library skills and learned about a different author each month. Her favorite book is Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary. Elaine said, “This yearlong reading challenge was really fun. I got to read some fun new books.” The Crawfordsville District Public Library congratulates all four on their yearlong reading journey and celebrates their dedication to reading and lifelong learning!
