Marie Canine Plaza Plaque Unveiling

Members of the community gathered recently at Marie Canine Plaza at Crawford Place in beautiful downtown Crawfordsville for the dedication of a plaque recognizing the story of the plaza and fountain. Notable attendees included Dr. Les Hearson, who was the original Crawfordsville Main Street board president and organizer for Crawfordsville Main Street, former Main Street President Sue Lucas, current president Jami Harrington, former board members Brad and Becky Hurt and board member Casey Hockersmith. According to Lucas, the organization saw a need for greenspace and converted the former parking lot into the plaza it is today. The new fountain was added in 2024 to replace one that had fallen into disrepair.
