Flower Lovers Garden Club Showcases Beauty

It’s time for the Flower Lovers Garden Club annual parade of beautiful yards and gardens.

The Flower Lovers Garden Club will be featuring  articles and photos of  local “front yard” gardens for each month throughout the summer.  Here for your pleasure is our first article:

When you drive by the garden at 1010 West Main, you may want to take not just a double, but a triple take.  The beautiful creative porch & front garden belong to Darlisa & Randy Steele.  Darlisa has been gardening all of her life assisting her mother, Anita Arnold, and Randy works for Sugar Creek Lawn & Landscape, so they make a great team.

Darlisa loves finding a plant bargain and frequents the back budget shelves at Walmart, Lowes, & Menards…and when asked where she acquired all of her adorable garden art, she said Yard Sales and Goodwill!

Darlisa over winters her geraniums & begonias on her sun porch and can bring them back year after year; quite the green thumb!  When asked how her practices have changed over the years, she said that she is more patient with herself.  She stated that if she can’t get to a weed, it will still be there tomorrow and may be beneficial to bees and other insects.

Don’t miss viewing this gem of a garden for the month of June.
