Sugar Creek Quilters’ to hold 24th Annual Holiday Bazaar

Sugar Creek Quilters’ 24th Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville District Public Library’s lower level community rooms.

Known for fine workmanship, the quilters will offer many quilted gift items for sale at reasonable prices.  Shoppers can expect to find handmade wall hangings, table runners, ornaments, purses, quilts, and many other items. In addition to quilted goods, baked items will be offered for sale.

Sugar Creek Quilters uses the proceeds to fund club programs and to support charity projects for the community. Quilters have donated quilts to the Women’s Resource Center, Montgomery County Free Clinic, Marie Canine Cancer Center and various Veterans’ Hospitals.

About Sugar Creek Quilters

Anyone interested in joining Sugar Creek Quilters is invited to attend a meeting. Meetings are held in a community room of the Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. Meetings consist of educational programs and a show and tell time when members share their work.

There is typically a “quilt bee” hosted monthly by various members of the guild, where members gather together bringing their own project to work on while they visit and exchange ideas with each other.

Periodic workshops are offered to help quilters improve their skills. Two retreats are held each year, including a weekend retreat held at the First Christian Church during the fall. Quilters may come and go at their discretion to work on group projects or individual projects. A spring retreat happens at Threads of Time in Danville, Ill. Participants are invited to stay overnight in the shop’s comfortable facilities, or come and go as they please. This retreat is usually scheduled for late March or early April.
