Butch Says Those Parental Sayings Can Still Be Used

Do you remember the threats, expressions, and little lectures that your parents used on you when you got in trouble as a youngster? You swore that you would never use those on your kids…right? Well, great news. You CAN use those again with some of the pesky national politicians who get on our nerves! Here are a few to keep handy in time of need:

…”Money doesn’t grow on trees you know.”

…”How would you like your mouth washed out with soap?”

…”I guess you must think you are someone special.”

…”Wipe that grin off your face, or I’ll wipe it off for you.”

…”Here’s a dime. Call someone who cares.”

…”If you want to act like a child, I’ll treat you like one.”

…”Don’t cry on my account. You brought this on yourself.”

…”Give me a break. I wasn’t born yesterday you know.”

…”If you have kids when you grow up, I hope they are just like you.”

…”God gave you a brain, didn’t he? Use it!”

…”Stop pouting. ‘Can’t’ never did anything.”

…”Who do you think you are…the Queen of Sheeba?”

…”Quit carrying on. You’ll live.”

…”Put a sock in it.”

…”Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.”

Well folks, election day is here. Thank the Lord the political commercials will be over soon. No matter who wins, remember that we will get the best politicians that money can buy. No matter which political party you prefer, our national politicians and baby diapers have one thing in common…they should be changed regularly…for the same reason. Just keep in mind that national politicians are wonderful people as long as they stay away from things they don’t understand…such as working for a living. As comedian George Burns once said, “It’s too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy driving taxis and cutting hair.”

Well, it’s time to vote. Mark your ballot. Cross your fingers…and pray. And as your parents said, “I’m not asking. I’m telling. Because I said so, that’s why. One day you’ll thank me!”
