William T. “Bill” Young

July 18, 1942 – Dec. 2, 2022

William T. “Bill” Young, age 80, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022 at Franciscan Health Lafayette.

He was born on July 18, 1942 to the late John S. and Mary Eileen (Boots) Young.

He graduated from New Market High School in 1960. He attended Indiana State University and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He married Cheryl Jane Miller on Aug. 22, 1970, he preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2017.

He worked at Pizza Hut for several years until his retirement. During his time there, his store won several awards including being third in the Nation. He enjoyed being a clown going to company picnics conventions, and volunteering at hospitals. He was inducted into the Clown Hall of Fame. He loved spoiling his Yorkie, Pyper.

Survivors include his daughter, Tracie Young; his son, Ed (Melissa) Young; two grandchildren, Bethany and Jonathon Young; two brothers, Steve Young and James “Bob” Young; and a special friend, Judy Connor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rachel J. Rankey.

Visitation is scheduled at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington Street in Crawfordsville Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 from 5 – 7 p.m. There will be a private family funeral service on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022. Burial will follow at a later date.
