James Michael “Mike” Mennen

Aug. 17, 1975 – Nov. 12, 2021

James Michael “Mike” Mennen, 46, Plainfield, passed away with family by his side on Friday, Nov. 12 after battling respiratory pneumonia.

Born Aug. 17, 1975, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Dennis Mennen and Teresa Newlin. 

He graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1994 and attended Vincennes. Mr. Mennen drove a semi for Progistics Distribution. He was an avid fan of the Cubs and Colts. He loved his cat, Eddie, and riding his Harley. He was baptized at Connection Point in Brownsburg.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Newlin; father, Dennis (Kathy) Mennen; grandmother, Jean Newlin Keller; brother, Jason (Misty) Mennen; sister, Melissa (Ben) Auxier; step-brother, John Rutan; step-sisters, Julie (Mike) Voigt and Jill Leonard; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Doris Mennen; grandfather, Jake Newlin; cousin, Aaron Edwards; and brother-in-law, Aaron Shelton.

In keeping with wishes, cremation will take place, after which there will be a memorial visitation on Friday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash, Crawfordsville. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.
