Rita Peterson

May 1, 1964 – Nov. 19, 2021

Rita Peterson, Rockville, passed away Friday at St. Vincent’s Hospital on 86th street. She was 57.

Born May 1, 1964 in Scottsville, Ky., she was the daughter of Gilford Carver and JoAnn Lonsberry Carver.  

Her family moved to Beech Grove and she would attend Beech Grove High School. She married Michael Peterson on May 15, 1999. He survives. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker who loved her kids and her grandkids. She would spoil her grandkids every chance she got.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Peterson; daughter, Amanda (Caleb) Yates; son, Jonathon Acres; son, Joesph (Brittney) Wilson; daughter, Amanda Peterson; daughter, Ashley (Matthew) Smith; son, Alexander Peterson; brother, Robert Carver; sister, Kathryn Wilson; sister, Leslie Carver; brother, Earl Carver; and her 11 grandchildren, Azalia, Vincent, Xavier, Mirrabella, Dominic, Mackenzie, Karson, Grace, Mia, Elena and Henry.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash, Crawfordsville.  Graveside services will be held at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Crawfordsville.
