Taste Countdown On;
Musical Acts Superb
The Taste of Montgomery County is fast approaching. Beginning at noon on Saturday, Aug. 23, it offers something for almost everyone – laughter, great food, wonderful music and good times. And it’s all set in an almost perfect venue, Gen. Lew Wallace’s backyard right here in beautiful downtown Crawfordsville.
On the music side, the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum is pleased to announce the musical line-up!
Taking the stage at 1 p.m., the Golden Oldies Jazz Band continues its goal of helping to preserve the Art of Jazz! As they perform songs from this uniquely American art form, they hope to encourage audiences to join on a journey down “memory lane” listening to a variety of musical selections from the 20th century! www.goldenoldiesjazzband.com.
Playing from 4 – 6 p.m. will be The Midtown Madmen. The Midtown Madmen are an energized four-piece band that plays the hits of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Johnny Cash and more. Their set list is a great blend of classic rock and roll, with some swing, jump and blues mixed in to satisfy every crowd! Finishing up the evening will be the outstanding 45 RPM, playing from 7 – 9 p.m. A multi-national band, 45RPM takes its audience on a magical journey back to the music that changed rock history. Advance tickets for The Taste are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Advance tickets may be purchased at Milligan’s Gift & Flower Shop, Montgomery County Visitors & Convention Bureau, Crawfordsville Community Center and the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum until Friday, Aug. 23. Admission on the day of the Taste is $8 for adults and $3 for students.
