Salvation Army Looking for Bell Ringers

It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. The Salvation Army of Montgomery County is already thinking about this year’s annual Red Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army of Montgomery County is looking for volunteers to help manage small tasks during the Red Kettle Campaign.  These may include kettle collection and distribution. Interested individuals may contact Clay Adams, Advisory Council chairman, by calling or texting him at (765) 376-7194 or by emailing him at clayadams47933@gmail.com.

Volunteers are also needed to ring the bell at Kroger and Walmart.  Ringing will start on November 15th and end on December 24th. Volunteers can sign up for 1 or 2-hour shifts.  Churches, civic organizations, youth organizations, businesses, as well as individuals and families are encouraged to support the community by volunteering.  Students needing community service credits can do so by ringing the bell.  People interested can sign up at www.register2ring.com.  Individuals, organizations, and businesses can also make donations by writing a check to: The Salvation Army of Montgomery County.  Donations can be dropped off at New Hope Christian Church, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, or by mailing them to 2746 S. 251, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.

Money raised during the Red Kettle Campaign in Montgomery County is what enables the Salvation of Montgomery County Montgomery to assist those with short term emergency needs during the year. This past year the Salvation Army has assisted over 75 families. This includes assistance with utilities, food, clothing, rent, and other short-term needs.  The Salvation Army is also there to assist with disasters and provides addiction help through Harbor Lights in Indianapolis.

The Salvation Army of Montgomery County thanks everyone who helped us serve your community throughout the year. Think about volunteering again this year. You are the most important link in reaching those in need.
