Small Business Gets Financial Shot in Arm From HHSB

Elderberry Everything has received a $20,000 Elevate Small Business Grant through Hoosier Heartland State Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis to support the expansion of their product line with elderberry lemonade.

Elderberry Everything, founded by Tammy Williams in 2019, is a locally owned business specializing in handcrafted elderberry syrup made with simple, natural ingredients. What began as Tammy’s effort to find a natural remedy for her son’s recurring respiratory issues has grown into a thriving small business, providing the community with wellness products rooted in care and quality.

Elderberry Everything has seen success with their lemonade, making it fresh in their food truck during seasonal vendor events. It will now be canned and sold in wholesale stores in 12-ounce cans. The Elevate Small Business Grant will support their partnership with Proper Beverage Co., a full-service beverage packaging company, to pasteurize, blend, and can the lemonade on a large scale.

“With this grant, we’ll be able to take a bigger step into the wholesale market and reach more people in areas like Indianapolis, Lafayette, and even into Illinois,” said Tammy Williams, owner of Elderberry Everything. “It also gives us more time to focus on our family and growing the business.”

Elevate Small Business Grants are awarded annually by FHLBank Indianapolis through its member financial institutions. Member institutions apply for the grant on behalf of their small business customers, and eligible applications are awarded up to $20,000 in funds to support the growth and development of small businesses across Indiana and Michigan. Eligible businesses must be headquartered in Indiana or Michigan, have been in continuous operation for at least one year and earn less than $1M in annual gross revenue.
