Rep. Genda Shares Update
North Montgomery Middle School recently received a Purple Star School designation for demonstrating their commitment to students and families connected to the military. This year, nearly 100 schools either earned or renewed their designation, which is valid for three years.
Among the criteria to earn this distinction, schools must have a point of contact for service members, veterans and military families, host an annual military program and maintain a public display honoring service members.
A complete list of this year’s Purple Star schools can be found online. Applications for next year’s Purple Star School designations will be available starting in the spring.
Our service members and their families sacrifice so much to defend this great country. It’s encouraging to see so many Hoosier schools show their appreciation for our men and women in uniform. Rep. Mark Genda represents House District 41 which includes portions of Montgomery, Clinton, Boone and Tippecanoe counties.
