NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES
WAYNETOWN WATER UTILITY
Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the water utility
of the Town of Waynetown are hereby notified that an Ordinance establishing rates and charges for
services to be rendered by the water utility, was introduced at a meeting of the Waynetown Town
Council held on December 10, 2025.
The Town Council is holding a Public Hearing at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday January 14, 2026, at the
Waynetown Town Hall Community Room, located at 106 North Vine Street, Waynetown, IN 47990, on
the matter of the rates and charges, which provides in part as follows:
Section One. Chapter 51 of the Town’s Water Utility Rates and Charges is hereby
amended to replace the applicable rate or charge below in strikethrough and instead adopt
the fee in bold:
Deposit for all new customers and landlords $100.00 $200.00
Reconnect charge for non-payment $25.00 $75.00
Section Two. All rates and charges not amended by this ordinance shall remain in full
force and effect.
At such public hearing of said Ordinance all interest parties may appear and be heard. Written
comments received prior to the public hearing will also be considered.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES WAYNETOWN SEWER UTILITY
Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the sewer utility
of the Town of Waynetown are hereby notified that an Ordinance establishing rates and charges for
services to be rendered by the sewer utility, was introduced at a meeting of the Waynetown Town
Council held on December 10, 2025.
The Town Council is holding a Public Hearing at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday January 14, 2026, at the
Waynetown Town Hall Community Room, located at 106 North Vine Street, Waynetown, IN 47990, on
the matter of the rates and charges, which provides in part as follows:
Section One. Chapter 52.08 of the Town’s Sewer Utility Rates and Charges is hereby
amended to replace and wholly supersede the current provision with the following:
52.08 Each user connecting to the town’s sewage works shall pay a fee upon
connection, to be designated as the impact fee, in the amount of $1,500.
Section Two. All rates and charges not amended by this ordinance shall remain in full
force and effect.
At such public hearing of said Ordinance all interest parties may appear and be heard. Written
comments received prior to the public hearing will also be considered.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES WAYNETOWN ELECTRIC UTILITY
Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the electric utility
of the Town of Waynetown are hereby notified that an Ordinance establishing rates and charges for
services to be rendered by the electric utility, was introduced at a meeting of the Waynetown Town
Council held on December 10, 2025.
The Town Council is holding a Public Hearing at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday January 14, 2026, at the
Waynetown Town Hall Community Room, located at 106 North Vine Street, Waynetown, IN 47990, on
the matter of the rates and charges, which provides in part as follows:
Section One. Appendix A of the Town’s Electric Utility Rates and Charges is hereby
amended to replace the applicable rate or charge below in strikethrough and instead adopt
the rate in bold:
Deposit for all new customers and landlords $150.00 $250.00
Deposit for garage service $7.50 $7.50
Reconnect charge for non-payment $25.00 $75.00
Voluntary disconnect charge (eg, out of town) $25.00 $25.00
Voluntary reconnect charge (eg, out of town) $25.00 $25.00
Requested meter test $25.00 $50.00
Dishonored/NSF payment bank charge $25.00 $25.00
Second dishonored/NSF payment in one calendar year: No further payment of
utility bills by customer’s check will be accepted
Section Two. All rates and charges not changed above or amended by this ordinance
shall remain in full force and effect.
At such public hearing of said Ordinance all interest parties may appear and be heard. Written
comments received prior to the public hearing will also be considered.

As required by Indiana Code 5-14-9-6, all persons are hereby notified that there are no appointed Town Council Members. Robert Cox, Barry Lewis, Aaron Benge, Doug Harris and Randy Phillips were elected to a 4-year term from 1-1-24 to 12-31-27. The Clerk-Treasurer, Sandra Proctor, was not appointed she was elected to a 4-year term from 1-1-24 to 12-31-27.
