CPD Investigating Fatal Shooting at Milligan Park

Crawfordsville Police continue the investigation of a fatal shooting in Milligan Park last week.

On Thursday just before 10 p.m., the Montgomery County Central Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a person has been shot at Milligan Park.

Officers from the Crawfordsville Police Department responded to the scene along with the Crawfordsville Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police. Medics provided treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville for emergency care. The victim, Kaleb Isabell, a 31-year-old male from Rockville, died from injuries sustained in the incident. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the hospital.

Law enforcement officers were quickly able to identify person(s) of interest in the investigation. At 10:52 p.m. individuals were detained in connection with the shooting.

This investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, authorities do not believe there is in active or immediate threat to the community.

Due to the ongoing investigation, there may be periodic closures at Milligan Park while officers and investigators continue processing the scene. The public is asked to avoid the area. Updates regarding park closures will be provided on the City of Crawfordsville Facebook page.

Responding agencies included the Crawfordsville Police Department, Crawfordsville Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana State Police, the Indiana State Police Crime Lab, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, Montgomery County Central Dispatch, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers.
