Leadership Academy Names Rachel Wells Executive Director

The Montgomery County Leadership Academy announced Rachel Wells as its new Executive Director, bringing experienced leadership, nonprofit expertise, marketing strategy and a strong focus on relationship development to Montgomery County.
Wells joins the organization with a professional background in leadership development, nonprofit management and program coordination. She has a proven record of building partnerships, developing programs and engaging communities through collaborative initiatives. Her work has focused on strengthening local leadership pipelines, supporting civic engagement and delivering programs that prepare individuals to lead effectively in their communities.
“Rachel brings the skills, experience, and vision needed to continue advancing the mission of the Montgomery County Leadership Academy,” said Board President Monica Nagele. “Her background in community engagement, communications, volunteer coordination and leadership development aligns perfectly with the goals of our organization and the needs of Montgomery County.”
As a new resident of Montgomery County, Wells is enthusiastic about connecting with local businesses, civic leaders and community organizations. She is committed to learning about Crawfordsville and surrounding communities while helping expand leadership opportunities across the county.
“I’m excited to join the Montgomery County Leadership Academy and become part of the Crawfordsville community,” said Wells. “I look forward to working with current and emerging leaders, building relationships across Montgomery County and helping support a strong, connected and growing community.”
Outside of her professional role, Wells enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and exploring new places. She values community involvement, building meaningful connections and personal growth. She is eager to explore Montgomery County, attend local events and establish roots in the area.
The Montgomery County Leadership Academy continues to provide leadership training programs in Montgomery County, Indiana, helping individuals grow their skills, build networks, and contribute to the long-term success of the community. Under Wells’s leadership, MCLA will continue to strengthen its programs and expand its impact across Crawfordsville and the surrounding region.
